Approval
Responsibility: The Regional Workforce Investment Boards, in
partnership with Iowa Workforce Development, will identify and
certify training providers whose performance qualifies them to
receive Workforce Investment Act (WIA) funds to train Adults and
Dislocated Workers. Training providers will be determined to be
eligible, initially as well as subsequently, by Regional Workforce
Investment Boards in partnership with Iowa Workforce Development. Click Here for a Listing of Regional Web Sites Eligible Training Providers: Eligible training providers include: (1) Post-secondary educational institutions that are eligible to receive funds under Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965 and provide a program that leads to an associate degree, baccalaureate degree or certificate; (2) Entities that carry out programs under the National Apprenticeship Act, and (3) Other public or private providers of a program of training services. Training Programs: A training program is considered to be a course of study that upon successful completion leads to a certificate, an associate degree, baccalaureate degree, or competency skill. Certification Process: An application for each program must be submitted to the Regional Workforce Investment Board in the region in which the training provider desires its program to be certified. Each program of training services must be described, including appropriate performance and cost information. An application form can be printed from the link below.
