| PeopleService has developed and Apprenticeship Program where you will receive on-the-job training in the treatment of water and wastewater. We will also pay for correspondence courses to obtain state certification in the field. While you learn you will receive compensation and benefits.
Requirements of the Program:
Must be 18 years of age
Possess a High School diploma or equivalent
Be physically able to perform the essentials of the job (lifting requirement of 100 lbs)
Possess a valid driver's license with clean driving record to operate company vehicle
Must live within 10-30 minutes of Clarinda
Willing to relocate
Able to work outside in all types of weather
Will be expected to work on correspondence course on your own time
As an Apprentice you will learn chlorination and fluoridating the water supply, analysis before and after treatment, learn the regulations pertaining to treating water so as not to harm the consumer. In addition, you will gain an understanding of pumps, valves, electrical gears, gauges, pipes, well houses, sampling, hazards, confined spaces, boilers, ventilation, motors, characteristics of wastewater, etc.
